The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to feature the work of local artist Ariana Mixon.

She likes to create art that delves into the macabre, dark and unknown. She does this through her acrylic paintings mostly focusing on portraits. She states that she “feel[s] when someone looks at [her] painting and genuinely feels uncomfortable enough where they want to look away, the painting has done its job. There is something special about keeping someone's attention.” She also believes art is all about making someone feel something and wants people to really sit with the uncomfortable feeling and think about why they feel that way.

This exhibition will be on display in our Main Gallery from April 4th to 24th, 2024.
