Ron Baker Opening Reception

Ron Baker Sunlight.jpg

Ron’s background in photography started with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye he received in his early teens. In the late 1950’s, he bought his first 35mm camera. Shortly thereafter, he became plant photographer for Bell Labs and Western Electric in Kansas City.  He continued from there to be supervisor of the photo lab and print shop for AT&T in Denver, spending a total of 28 years establishing and managing corporate photography and printing.

A few years after retirement, he picked up the camera again, but this time as a hobby concentrating on fine art black-and-white photography.  He explored this medium with cameras he purchased and specialized cameras he built.

In 2002, Ron switched from film to digital photography devoting his time and effort to perfecting this skill and technique. His use of high-quality cameras, computers, processing software, printers, ink, and paper provides some of the best photographic quality today.
