FRONT GALLERY: *Captured Impressions* by becka jahelka

**OCTOBER 9th - NOVEMBER 7th, 2026**
The Hutchinson Art Center is looking forward to featuring the work of Kansas artist Becka Jahelka in our Front Gallery during October and into early November.
Becka Jahelka is interested in how color, shape, and line can come together in abstract compositions. The artist utilizes batik and watercolor techniques, printmaking methods such as relief, reduction, collagraph, and monotype, or a combination of these techniques and methods – whichever best suits her subject matter. She takes inspiration from the landscapes around her home in her native Kansas and her frequent summer destinations of Colorado.

MAIN GALLERY: *ARTWORK FROM the 2026 AUTUMN CONSIGNMENT ART AUCTION*

**OCTOBER 30th - NOVEMBER 14th, 2026**
The Hutchinson Art Center is looking forward to holding another auction in the Autumn of 2026.
Artworks from our 2026 Autumn Consignment Art Auction will be on display in our Main Gallery from late October into mid-November.
This is a perfect opportunity to browse through our inventory of the many works of art available for live bidding at our consignment art auction on Saturday, November 14th, 2026.
Artwork will also be available for online viewing starting some time in October 2026.

FRONT GALLERY: *JR. MEMBERS ART SHOW*

**NOVEMBER 13th - DECEMBER 12th, 2026**
The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to feature artwork by the children and grandchildren of Art Center members in our Front Gallery during November and December.
Here at the Art Center, we believe in the positive impact that art can have on children.
Creating art allows children to grow — it builds confidence, improves motor skills, and teaches problem-solving. It also gives them a safe space to express their feelings and explore new ideas.
Displaying their artwork in a public setting is just as beneficial. It builds self-esteem, validates their creative efforts, and tells them that their thoughts and ideas are valued. It is also a way for children to make connections and practice their communication and storytelling skills.
We are proud to give children the opportunity to share their artwork with our community, and we look forward to seeing what they have created!

MAIN GALLERY: *KANSAS ART GUILD*

**NOVEMBER 20th - DECEMBER 19th, 2026**
The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to feature the work of the Kansas Art Guild in our Main Gallery during the month of November and into December.
Originally formed in May 1977 as the Friends Community Art Guild, the guild’s first meetings were held at Friends University with eight members present. Nona Bass, President, had just moved from Anaheim, California, to Wichita and was surprised to learn that there was no organization in Wichita for its local artists. She felt it was important that artists could meet and share ideas.
The Guild grew rapidly and soon moved to the Wichita Art Museum. At that time, the name was changed to the Community Art Guild. When the Wichita Art Museum underwent renovation, the Guild moved to the Wichita Center for the Arts. The Guild later moved to its present location at Mark Arts | Mary R Koch Arts Center in January 2018.
In the summer of 1993, members voted to change the name to the Kansas Art Guild, Inc. At that time, it was decided to incorporate. The name is very appropriate since many of the members live many miles outside the Wichita Area. The Guild’s goal is to promote artists and their artwork. Members share their recent works, which are judged by visiting artists. The Guild also holds exhibitions at several locations in the area throughout the year.

Front gallery: *small wonders: selections from the permanent collection*

**DECEMBER 18th, 2026 - JANUARY 16th, 2027**
The Hutchinson Art Center is excited to share selections from the Hutchinson Art Association Permanent Collection during the months of December and January.
The Hutchinson Art Association has collected over 350 works of art by local, national, and international artists over its seven-plus decades of history.
This exhibition highlights works from the Permanent Collection that are tiny but mighty.

The Hutchinson Art Center is looking forward to featuring the eclectic work of Kansas artists Jennifer Weigel, Stephanie Bayliff, and Abby Ausherman in our Main Gallery during January and February.

Front Gallery: *Artwork by Katelynn McCoy*

**JANUARY 22nd - FEBRUARY 27th, 2027**
The Hutchinson Art Center will have the work of Kansas artist Katelynn McCoy in our Front Gallery during late January and all of February.
Katelynn McCoy is the creative force behind KEMS ARTS LLC. She is known for her bold, expressive paintings that center on themes of transformation, healing, and emotional depth. Working primarily in acrylics and oils, she creates vibrant, layered pieces that invite viewers to slow down, feel deeply, and reconnect with their own stories.
**This exhibition will be on display in the Front Gallery from January 22nd - February 27th, 2027.**

Artworks from our 2026 Autumn Consignment Art Auction will be on display in our Main Gallery during the month of March.
