Front Gallery: Orang-Utan - Person of the Forest by Dale Grosbach
MARCH 27th - APRIL 25th, 2026
The Hutchinson Art Center is happy to host the work of photographer Dale Grosbach in our Front Gallery during the month of March and into April.
Orang-Utan - Person of the Forest features intimate black-and-white images of Bornean Orang-utans in their native jungle home of Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). The phrase ‘person of the forest’ is the English translation of the name ‘orang-utan’ from the local language. These images were taken in early 2025.
Dale Grosbach is a life-long photographer. He and his wife have recently relocated to Hutchinson, Kansas. Grosbach has been using digital cameras to capture images since 2002. In recent years, he has traveled extensively, capturing landscapes and wildlife in various locations around the world.
This exhibition will be on display in the Front Gallery from March 27th - April 25th, 2026.
Main Gallery: Christina Lamoureaux: Paintings & Sculpture - Pulse of the Prairie Continues
APRIL 10th - MAY 16th, 2026
The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to host the work of Christina Lamoureux in our Main Gallery during the months of April and May.
Christina Lamoureaux is an Kansas artist, who creates artistic mix media painted and sculptural compositions of subjects with layers of clay & painted edges, underglaze, glaze, paint & encaustics.
Lamoureaux’s ideas are developed from spending time biking on the prairie & photographing life images. She has drawn hundreds of portraits from life, painted series of watercolors, successfully printed editions of lithography images, and also merges these artistic techniques to include layers of paint, glaze and encaustics.
Lamoureaux has a Master of Art in Printmaking and a Master of Fine Art in Inter-Media from Fort Hays State University and her works have been exhibited in national shows. Along with art-making, she has been teaching art for 38 years. Her research and practice offers a rich platform of artistic achievement that showcases beautiful visions of the environment and its life lessons.
The exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery from April 10th - May 16th, 2026.
Front GALLERY: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS ART EXHIBIT WITH MILESTONE CLUBHOUSE
MAY 1st - 30th, 2026
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental illness affects 1 in 5 adults in the United States. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this exhibition aims to shine a light on the creative outlets that people use to help cope with their mental illness as well as bring awareness to the importance of mental health.
The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to partner with the Milestone Clubhouse in organizing this exhibition. The Milestone Clubhouse is a local organization that aims to build a community of support for adults with severe mental illness by supporting employment, education, and so much more.
This exhibition will be on display in the Front Gallery from May 1st - 30th, 2026.
Main Gallery: Artwork from the 2026 SUMMER CONSIGNMENT ART AUCTION
MAY 22nd - JUNE 6th, 2026
The Hutchinson Art Center is looking forward to holding another artwork in the Summer of 2026.
Artworks from our 2026 Summer Consignment Art Auction will be on display in our Main Gallery from late May into the beginning of June.
This is a perfect opportunity to browse through our inventory of the many works of art available for live bidding at our consignment art auction on Saturday, June 6th, 2026.
Artwork will also be available for online viewing starting later in May 2026.

The Hutchinson Art Center is excited to share selections from the Hutchinson Art Association Permanent Collection during the months of July and June.
The Hutchinson Art Association has collected over 350 works of art by local, national, and international artists over its seven-plus decades of history.
This exhibition highlights works from the Permanent Collection that are weird, wonderful, and out there in the best possible way.
This exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery from June 12th - July 25th, 2026.

MAIN GALLERY: PAT POTUCEK RETROSPECTIVE
JULY 31st - AUGUST 29, 2026
The Hutchinson Art Center is honored to host a retrospective of artwork by renowned Hutchinson, KS artist Pat Potucek during the month of August.
Born in 1925, Pat Potucek was an artist of pen and ink, watercolor, pastels, and so much more. Any surface she paint, she did.
She worked on illustrations for Wiley’s and Pegues department stores and the Hutchinson News. She gain recognition for her portraiture, murals, and still-life paintings as well as her work with papier-mache. At one point, Hollywood even offered her a job as a set designer, but she decided to wanted to raise her family and continued making art in Hutchinson.
Pat Potucek was making artwork up to the week of her death in 2011. Her presence continues to be felt in and around Hutchinson, with her artwork decorating people’s homes and the walls of schools, galleries, and other institutions.
This exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery from July 31st - August 29th, 2026.

Main Gallery: 2026 Hutchinson Art Association Members ART SHOW

The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to put on our annual showcase of artwork by our artist members in our Main Gallery during the months of September and October.
Enjoy viewing a diverse range of art styles, mediums, and techniques crafted in the heartland of America. In the past, the exhibit has featured 2D work that showcases natural landscapes to abstract art and everything in between, as well as 3D pieces such as jewelry and ceramic creations. This show will be no different!
Additionally, these featured artists support our organization in so many ways throughout the year, and we dearly appreciate their belief in our organization and the work we do together for our community. Thank you to all the wonderful members who act as the beating heart of the Hutchinson Art Association!

MAIN GALLERY: KANSAS ART GUILD
NOVEMBER 20th - DECEMBER 19th, 2026
The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to feature the work of the Kansas Art Guild in our Main Gallery during the month of November and into December.
Originally formed in May 1977 as the Friends Community Art Guild was formed in May 1977, their first meetings were held at Friends University with eight members present. Nona Bass, President, had just moved from Anaheim, California, to Wichita and was surprised to learn that there was no organization in Wichita for its local artists. She felt it was important that artists could meet and share ideas.
The Guild grew rapidly and soon moved to the Wichita Art Museum. At that time, the name was changed to the Community Art Guild. When the Wichita Art Museum underwent renovation, the Guild moved to the Wichita Center for the Arts. The Guild later moved to its present location at Mark Arts | Mary R Koch Arts Center in January 2018.
In the summer of 1993, members voted to change the name to the Kansas Art Guild, Inc. At that time, it was decided to incorporate. The name is very appropriate since many of the members live many miles outside the Wichita Area. The Guild’s goal is to promote artists and their artwork. Members share their recent works, which are judged by visiting artists. The Guild also holds exhibitions at several locations in the area throughout the year.
