Main Gallery: "A View into Realism" by Skip Kreibach

  • Hutchinson Art Center 405 N Washington St Hutchinson, KS 67501 USA (map)

Skip’s art interest began in 2004 when he decided to take a college art course where he worked as a computer science instructor. He continued taking various art courses during the next 3 years covering all manner of art subjects and mediums. Through trial and error, a measure of frustration, and a few other painting workshops, he developed and refined his artistic skills becoming familiar with oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, pastel, and conté crayon techniques. Skip was first trained as a secondary school teacher receiving both a BA and MA degree from the University of Wisconsin plus another master’s degree from USC. However, upon graduation from college in 1967, he answered the call of military service, pursued a career as a U. S. Marine, and retired in 1990 as a lieutenant colonel. From here, he joined the teaching staff at Allen County Community College where he taught computer science and again retired in 2005. His art compositions reflect an affinity for “realism” and detail. Oil, acrylic, and graphite are his favorite medium and still life and “stuff” his favorite subjects. He has entered many art shows and exhibits receiving numerous awards, honors, and recognition. Much of his work is available for sale as originals and prints.

His work can be viewed at www.facebook.com/skipsgallery and he can be reached at artguyskip@gmail.com.
