Celebrating Ninety with Maleta Forsberg and Betty Jo Houchen
Opening Reception: Friday, January 14th, 5:00-7:00 PM.
Maleta and Betty Jo are country gals residing in homes built into the rural hillsides of McPherson county. Informer years, their homesteads were inhabited by a variety animals, including chickens, geese, and always dogs and cats. The Forsberg family even had a buffalo at one time.
Both artists believe that the humanities are the key to a better world and have worked at promoting the arts all their years. They have both served on the board of the Sandzen Memorial Gallery. Betty Jo served on the Show Committee for 20 years, while Maleta is still on it.
Traveling is a favorite thing to do for them and studying the arts on foreign soil is relished. To celebrate their 70th year, they went to Spain and then shared their sights in a joint exhibit at the Sandzen Gallery.
In this exhibit, you will see landscapes, animals, the flora and the fauna, and images of children. You will really get to know these country gals who like to paint.
