Main Gallery: Fortitude: A Permanent Collection Exhibition

  • Hutchinson Art Center 405 N Washington St Hutchinson, KS 67501 USA (map)

We welcome our newest exhibition in our main gallery--Fortitude: A Permanent Collection Exhibition. This exhibition will be rotated biannually with pieces from our permanent collection. Admission is FREE and open to the public.

From our Executive Director Jacelyn Chambers about the exhibition:

"The past few years have tested our mettle. Our inner strength was called upon time and time again in the face of a pandemic. Financial crisis. Natural and man-made disasters. Uncertainty. Death. At some point during the 2020s, your resolve has wavered, your tenacity completely spent. Perhaps your bravery fled in the face of new and insurmountable threats. Perhaps you were engulfed by the trying fires of a difficult challenge, your willpower becoming tempered steel as a result. It is likely you found your footing one day, only to wake up completely unprepared and unsure the next.

In these struggles, we can take some small comfort knowing we were not alone. What has happened in the past two years occurred on a worldwide scale, and has connected us all in convoluted and unexpected ways. As we face the circumstances of an unknown future, we could all use a little extra fortitude. I hope you may draw a sense of peace and strength from this display of treasured artworks from the Hutchinson Art Association’s Permanent Collection. May they fortify you for the road ahead."
