Main Gallery: Christina Lamoureaux: Paintings & Sculpture - Pulse of the Prairie Continues

The Hutchinson Art Center is proud to host the work of Christina Lamoureux in our Main Gallery during the months of April and May.

Christina Lamoureaux is a Kansas artist, who creates artistic mix media painted and sculptural compositions of subjects with layers of clay & painted edges, underglaze, glaze, paint & encaustics.

Lamoureaux’s ideas are developed from spending time biking on the prairie & photographing life images. She has drawn hundreds of portraits from life, painted series of watercolors, successfully printed editions of lithography images, and also merges these artistic techniques to include layers of paint, glaze and encaustics.

Lamoureaux has a Master of Art in Printmaking and a Master of Fine Art in Inter-Media from Fort Hays State University and her works have been exhibited in national shows. Along with art-making, she has been teaching art for 38 years. Her research and practice offers a rich platform of artistic achievement that showcases beautiful visions of the environment and its life lessons.

This exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery from March 6th - April 4th, 2026.
