Front Gallery: Wildly in Bloom by Janice Richardson

  • Hutchinson Art Center 405 N Washington St Hutchinson, KS 67501 USA (map)

The Hutchinson Art Center is excited to feature the work of local artist Janice Richardson in our Front Gallery during the month of September and into the beginning of October.

Janice Richardson, a native of the Carolinas, currently lives and works in Hutchinson, Kansas. She pursued her passion for art after spending her childhood watching her mother find joy in drawing and painting. In 1998, Richardson received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Greensboro College in North Carolina.

Richardson’s style ranges from photorealistic oil paintings to modern impressionistic florals and nature scenes. She currently owns and operates an art studio in Downtown Hutchinson, as well as a small marketing company, Selwyn Marketing LLC, offering website design services. She also works part-time teaching painting classes at the Clayworks in Hutchinson. Her work with Clayworks has been deeply enriching, reinforcing her belief in the power of art to uplift, heal, and connect. It has also inspired her to lean further into her own creative practice and artistic journey.

She also finds joy and pride in serving her community through public art. She currently serves on the City of Hutchinson’s Public Art and Design Council, the Downtown Hutchinson Revitalization Board, and Downtown Hutchinson Main Street affiliated committees.

You can browse a selection of her artwork at www.splintersnrust.com/fineart.

This exhibition is on display in our Front Gallery from September 4th - October 3rd, 2026.
