Charcoal drawing method WORKSHOP

 

Join us for an evening at the Hutchinson Art Center where artist and teacher Yulla Vega for an evening of learning a forgiving and easy to use method for charcoal drawing!

This workshop is a one-day introductory drawing class using observational techniques, great for those who are new to drawing or haven’t drawn in a while and would like to build confidence and learn the basics.

About the Artist

Yulla Vega is a multidisciplinary artist working with painting and installation to explore themes of home and place within the community. Their work translates lived experiences of transitional homelessness, selective mutism, and systemic rupture into visual narratives that honor survival and the slow reassembly of self. With 20 years of sustained artistic practice, Yulla is bridging studio work and public engagement. They hold a project management certification, leveraging organizational skills to expand arts role as a tool for community dialogue and healing. Yulla has studied fine arts at Cowley College and the Kansas City Art Institute and is a member of Artist Inc. She currently resides and works out of Wichita, Kansas as an artist, project manager, and a teacher at Mark Arts.
