Virgil Penner is a painter based out of Newton, KS. He is well known for his whimsical landscape paintings that experiment with color, perspective and creative composition.

Our summer acrylic painting class with Virgil Penner will focus on these concepts mentioned above. Students are invited to bring a photo to work from, however this class will also encourage students to take creative liberties with the contents of their painting by making taking away elements and adding others at their choosing.

All materials will be provided by the Hutchinson Art Center for this class, however students are encouraged to bring a photograph from home to draw inspiration from for their sketches and paintings during the class.

Lunch will not be provided on site, however there are many fantastic local lunch options in downtown Hutchinson! Feel free to ask us for recommendations and/or directions to eateries in town.

Class Tuition Fee:
$80 tuition for non-members
$60 tuition for HAC Members
